Hi

Im having the car resprayed soon, But i still havent decided on a colour..

Was thinking of some kind of Red, only because the engine bay will still be red, and dont really want to affect resale value, Cos one day i want a TT :)

So guys any ideas?

About changing from red to another colour: my grey Supra was red when I first had it, and I quite liked it. But everyone here slagged off red Supes, so when I was getting a body kit fitted, and therefore needed a lot of paintwork doing, I decided to have the car repainted another colour (that's not quite true, I let Dude talk me into it - he hates red Supras).

In hindsight I wish I hadn't done it. I like the new colour (met grey) but you can tell it's not original, it's obviously been resprayed. Under the car and under the carpets it's still red - and that bugs me. I've painted all under the bonnet satin black (easier said than done) but whenever I have to lift the boot carpet I kick myself for not keeping it red.

I think if you are going to the effort of having it done you should make it obvious it's not a standard colour otherwise, like Jakes says you'll always see bits.

In fact, when I got mine I knew it was being sprayed, there was a red and a blue one, I went with the blue one for a few reasons- one being that underbonnet is dark not bright red!!

If I was to get mine resprayed it would be either

A really, Really, REALLY deep red. The kind that looks black until the light hits it just right and you go 'oooh, that's nice'

or, I'd do the same thing in green. Like how everyone thinks the original Xbox controllers are black but are actually green.

But I like my current red when it's polished.

I agree with Jake. If you're getting a respray either do it properly with all the bits off and engine out, or stick to the same colour.

Nothing worse to me than finding a completely different colour under the bonnet, boot, trim, carpet etc.

Because someone kindly scratched the rear quater above the wheel arch and it cant be blended in... If there respraying the main body etc then i dont want the doors, boot, bonnet etc to look different so i need the whole lot doing again...

Sorry to hear that- question was for Jody though.

It needs respraying coz i was a tit and smashed it, :(

I was thinking of red, coz under the bonnet is red, although the red is dull so i reckon any red will look okay..

Was thinkin of a really classy red but can only find the Chilli pepper colour, if anyone has any colours in mind let me know..

it has to look GGGOOOOOOODDD!!!! even if its bloody Red...
