Anyways I don't know what car to look at so I thought I would ask you lot as some are in the same predicament So you spare car owners what do you have! Classic car, free tax, no need to worry about main dealer servicing (they went bust 20 years+ ago anyway ) and insurance is cheap too. Best of both worlds Wouldn't help problem is I work nights and if I finish at 8 in the morning then I drive through Hereford town centre and get to the main road about 845am ( 3 miles) then travel 30 miles in 25 mins and spend another 45 getting through worcester town centre. IMHO yes by loads- by the time you've saved on servicing/wear and tear/potential accident damage/weather damage to the supe it's well worth it. And you can park it and not worry. I have a rover 214sli and a nissan almera 1.4 Rover is better on fuel, almera is nicer to drive. rover does about 320-340 miles to £35 fuel, almera does about 270-290 to £35. The exhaust fell of a few weeks ago and was hastily bodged together with a massive amount of gun-gum and an expander clip thingy from a kindly AA chap. The drivers seat is lop-sided with a spring sticking out of one side. It stinks. If I go over speed bumps too fast, the n/s/f head-light falls out. It's currently drinking antifreeze like there's no tomorrow. It sounds, drives, accelerates and handle like a particularly crappy tractor. It'll get laughed out of its next MOT; I honestly believe it's currently held together by nothing more than dirt (I refuse to wash it out of principal). I reckon it will save me around 1200 on fuel so that will cover the insurance, MOT, tax and the depreciation of the Supra!
