Some of you know my other half was expecting our first baby in 3 weeks time. On thursday she was taken to hospital for monitoring due to high blood pressure. Then yesterday the doctors were worried about the size of the baby and she was kept in hospital overnight. So i get a call from a nurse on the ward this morning saying i needed to be there but she wouldnt say anything else so you can imagine how worried i was! Anyways the doctors had decided they needed to deliver by emergency ceasarian asap. By this point i'm a complete wreck. The outcome is the tinyest baby i've ever seen, born at 3.28 this afternoon. 3lbs 14ozs!!!! Other than her size, shes fine. Breathing ok, feeding ok. She will need to be in an incubator for a few days, and intensive monitoring. I still feel a bit worried, but i guess thats natural.
So i'll introduce you all to teeny weeny sophie........

Im with Brian on this one, you think they take all your time and you couldnt give any more and then you find you can and do. Totally changed my life, my children are the most important thing now and you reaslise all the time and effort thats required and it makes you appreciate your own parents a lot more.

I had journdace when I was born in Jimmy's (leeds), was terribley premature - I had to have a nurse on stand by 24hrs to keep tapping me to stop me falling asleep as they were afraid I'd die otherwise. 50:50 chance of survival. Seems I pulled through.

End result was the lanky goon you met so things can't turn out too bad. :cool:

Congratulations! :) I'm working shifts on the labour ward myself at the moment so I have some idea of how stressful it can be for the parents but sounds like they did a good job!

Congrats mate, my old housemate is a special care baby nurse so she was always talking about the tiny ones she's had to work with. Some of them literally fit in the palm of her hand. Yikes.
