Then you can design your own kit, before paying for it, lol

And another:

Then there is the cool red one the guy on Supraforums did - I can't be bothered to find a pic of that, I want some lunch

The file is from a racing game I think, as it includes duplicate layers for the crashed and bent panels. I'll try to remove the crashed panels and re-save,

The good thing about the file is that it includes the interior and details such as brakes etc.

I uploaded a couple of 3D Studio Pro files of a Supra in the downloads section, these are very detailed and look very acurate.

Go HERE and HERE to download files.

:urock: i've been looking everywhere for 3ds model of a soop

i'll load up my (legally purchased:innocent: ) 3d studio program up later

:respekt:

AutoCAD is also a 3D package - dangerous rep.

You may be thinking of AutoCAD LT which is a tripped down version for doing only 2D work.

In my line of work I do 2D/3D and also visualisation stuff... we use Full AutoCAD and Lightwave 3D. Lightwave is a great package as it is easy to use and you can get good results really quickly. I used to use 3D studio max but now after using Lightwave I'm sticking with it.

I'm going to have a play around with those Supra models at work on Monday. ;-)

yeah autoCAD can do 3D but was never design properly for 3D use they just tryed to keep up with the trend

i use models for working out stress etc not for making them look good. i know solid works has an add on called photo works that renders the models with a higher definition.

but good to see what people come up with. big respect to anyone that can do that on autoCAD would take 'kin years

try these solidworks

Just recently been having a play around with those model files and came up with the following:

(all same scence just different colours.... plus the alloys have changed from original model)

http://fsphost.com/AJI2006/image01.jpg

http://fsphost.com/AJI2006/image02.jpg

http://fsphost.com/AJI2006/image03.jpg

They still need a bit of work... ie. rear light clusters etc.

Definitely not done is a CAD package.

Well I say that obviously files are exportable/importable between something like studio max and I-deas/unigraphics/catia.

Autocad whilst capable of producing 3D models, is nothing like a proper solid modeller like those above. Even with the mechanical desktop add-on, it's still along way behind. Comparing Autocad with the likes of Catia V5 or UGNX is like comparing conference and premiership.

I've been learning Catia V5 R13 for the last few months for my next job, and comparing that to I-deas NX 10 which I use now, Catia is quite a long way in front with most things.

The problem is with creating something in CAD that's going to be anything like good enough to make a part from to go on the car (body-kit wise at least) is accuracy. You need to get the pick up points absolutely cock on. Without some kind of CMM of laser scanner you'll never be able to get it absolutely right.

I looked at using the works laser scanner a few months ago. But it would still need so much post scan processing to make it worth while that it's just not feasible to do in your own time.

i use solidworks at work and that could be done if all the dimensions where to hand would be a mahhooosive file though

any body else use solidworks?

How do you find solidworks? All the demo's I've seen look pretty good, but I've been told compared to the "big 3" it leaves a lot to be desired.
