what tyres to go for???

It depends what sort of drive you do (lots of roundabouts vs motorways), how hard you drive, what size wheels you have, your suspension and whether the geometry is correct.

 

So, anywhere between 1000 and 20000 miles ;)

 

With stock 17's, stock tire size, a fair mix of town/motorway driving and a lot of time at WOT I get around 10k miles out of a set of Good Year F1's. Thats much better than most cars of this power and weight.

I will shortly be needing to replace my tyres (currently avons) and was wondering what is the best kind to go for?

 

front 245/40/18

rear 265/40/18

 

 

what like are the avons mate? i am getting new wheels that will be fitted with them, the guy said they are new ones just out but just in general what are they like?

 

wet

dry

cornering

etc

i was going to go for F1's but heard they are not the best at cornering and can slip slightly and the soop aint the lightest

 

I don't agree at all mate! In dry weather they can be out performed by a specialist dry weather tyre, but in the UK we don't have a lot of dry weather so need a tyre that suits all conditions.

 

I've had Avon ZZ3's (or whatever they're called) and they are probably the worse wet weather tyre I have had. They are so bad the front of car can wash out on a roundabout at as low as 30mph. Best avoided.
