EGT question

The difference in temperatures is mainly down to sensor position. The lower 600 figures are usually from after the turbo's in the pipe before the cats and the 900's are from BPU plus motors. Higher inlet temps cause the inevitable exhaust temps. High inlet temps are caused by running turbo's out of their design range ie at 1.2 bar instead of 0.8 bar hence the requirement for aftermarket charge coolers and water injection etc. It is indeed in celsius AFAIK. Figures for an N/A mm dunno. No-one usually bothers as you can't push the envelope or really do alot about your EGT's to worry about having to lower it. I'd of said an AFR meter would be more usefull on an N/A
