Its about time we had a Supra meet! :) The weekend would be better and like the idea of meeting somewhere a bit more scenic too!

Would have made this one however im off to St Lucia until the 13th Feb.

Will happily make any future meet!!!

Supraman

It would be good if we could arrange a meet that all the Scot supes could attend. So a central location such as Perth/Dundee (maybe) would be ideal for everyone to reach.

What do the rest of you think?

Ian W
24-01-06, 13:47
Perth/Dundee sounds perfect for me, would love the opportunity to meet the fellow Scottish Supra owners but would have to be a weekend.

:eyebrows: count me in...and I know a few non - members with soops too.
Much prefer a weekend....you get to drive rather than freezing your b*lls off in a car park!, keeps you away from police and checks, all that glorious scenery and you get too choose a nice place for a bar lunch.
Perth would be a god central spot.
Im in if a date can be reached

Irvy
29-01-06, 19:24
received a postcard from Crail yesterday
19th feb is Fast Car day - the magazine
Not sure if anyone was planning to go there. There are now options of having a meet and run from Perth or a meet at the show and hope we get featured...best sides only pleez!
wot do people want to do? do we need a vote? - mine goes with run cos magazine days are usually busy with drunken buckie idiots that get too near the cars...grrrr

superstar dj
29-01-06, 19:35
I'm with you on that Irvy , to many Burberry caps for me at Fast Car ,!!!

I work at one of the pubs in Perth and pretty sure the guys there would let us use the car park and the likes, also i get a good staff discount for food and drink, only downside is it is city center.

Sounds like a good place to meet. I was thinking that we would meet around 10am (given its dark by 5pm). We could make it 12 noon if the pub wasn't open till then?

Ian W

KEEP YOUR WELLIES ON... :tumble:

We went three months ago and I've still got bugs in my feet !

Seriously... I recommend wearing footwear on the beach as there is a very common lava in the ground / sand that gets into your feet (and doesn't stop there) !

Nobody mentioned it until I got home, now I've met more people who caught them.
And you thought that the Scotish midges were bad !!!!

Soo
30-01-06, 16:27
SORRY SUE.... Forgot (again) and just poeted in Soo's name cos I'm at work.

I can confirm that SOO has perfect feet !

GATSO !

Irvy
30-01-06, 17:59
I like the idea of 12 noon at pub....a spot of lunch then a drive in the country
if anyone is travelling north to Perth...we can meet at the odeon cinema, Dunfermline around 10.30...easily spotted from the dunfermline turnoff of the M90
just need directions to the pub!:)

sportsters in Perth (will need to get a more precise location for us who don't know where it is) at 12 noon on the 19th then?

post-code is PH1 5EP so you can find the location on multimap or AA route planner. Superstar_dj, what size is the car park there?

lloydmcc
01-02-06, 17:57
cool ill be there

Supraman
01-02-06, 18:10
Nice one! Love democracy in action! ;) So we now have a date, time and location for the meet. Update calendar with event time and location. All we need now is a route for a small run. Please (if you've not done so already) go to the calendar event and indicate if you will be coming.

superstar dj
01-02-06, 19:45
Sportsters is city centre but it does have a pretty decent size car park, enough for say 30 cars max. I will ask to see if we could get our own area ,the manager is a car nut so reckon he'll be up for it.

ADDRESS IS 4-6 SOUTH METHVEN STREET,PERTH,PH1 5EP.

First time trying to link so it might not work, if not WWW.CLG.CO.UK then navigate to sportsters perth:respekt:

OK guys, how about this route. Round trip is 102 miles. Perth-Aberfeldy-Crieff (via Loch Earn)-Perth.

It's a circular route on A roads, but hopefully avoids busy traffic and speed/radar! :-) I am assuming that the roads will have been salted and if Multimap is anything to go by there should be some nice straight stretches and windy bits! :) Goes without saying weather permitting!

I'll print out directions and bring them with me.

coming from edinburgh you will hit the turn off for dunfermline over the forth road bridge - if you are coming i am planning to be at the odeon cinema that you can see when you take the off-ramp with at least one more soop - then head up the M90 to Perth
if its a definite we can swap mobile numbers later on

neither i stay in south yorkshire, i used to stay in musselburgh but moved down here to be with the wife to be till we both can move back to scotland, mines is a black one (see my garage), i am musselburgh/prestonpans born and bred

besides this one is out, erm no one told me it was valentines day so i am going out on that weekend instead of the 14th,

bloody restraunts down here charge you £20-£30 booking fee for valentines night, rip off or what!!!!!!!!! some places give you it back and others dont so me and the mrs is going out on that weekend, got to keep up the scottish tightness

but please make it a regular meet and not a flash in the pan and someone take some pics of it, hope its a success, and possible combine it with the other scottish meet on here, i think there is another

Sounds like a Stan Plan! Someone with a bit more technical wizardry could put up a post with numerous locations and vote capable so we can see where the masses and minorities are out there in order to maximise meeting numbers to get this cracker off the ground?

 Yup, some nice pics there!

meant to ask you today, what mirrors are those on your car, and do they cover the factory holes as a direct replacement?

Who's idea was the muddy field pics? Bet that was popular !!!

I'll be honest with you mate - I have no idea what make my mirrors are...but they do cover the holes (that is I can't see any holes...)!

It was a bit overcast in the last couple of photos - looks worse that it was, it was actually a really nice area down but some water (whose name escapes me).

A wee suggestion in order to make the next meet/run more enjoyable - is anybody interested in looking out their old C.B's from their sheds or attics ( I must really be showing my age) . As well as being able to communicate between cars and have a blether during the run , it also gives you something to do with your left hand - beats scratching your a**e ( for the auto drivers).
If anyone else is up for this, it gives us time before next meet to rig-up.
Cheers

would be a possibility...

have lots of crap in my shed but don't think a c.b/walkie-talkie is one of those things......

Don't know about CBs...but have heard some mention handsets that might do the trick. Can't remeber the name that's been mentioned on some of the threads though!

I got a couple of walkie-talkies for my xmas but you can get fairly cheap ones from the likes of ASDA/TESCOS which usually work together.

could be an idea, RIJ8631....would maybe prevent us all from stopping off to ask where we're going every ten minutes! lol

yeh i'm up for that, obviously we must all get ones that work on the same wavelength, otherwise it would be a bit of a cock up. So if someone can suggest a reasonable make and model then we are maybe on to a winner.

maybe someone with a bit of computer knowledge will post a new thread regarding transmitting/receiving devices, and we might get a consensus as to a reasonably priced and capable device.

hi irvy, saw this one, but it only has 2 chargers for 4 units, and a distance of only 3kms - not much use when i fall away behind the rest of you guys !!!
the one that i suggested had a charger for each unit and a distance of 5kms
