I must admit that I'm tempted, but with 120+ cars, there's bound to be one or two idiots trying to smash themselves up and take out anyone who happens to be nearby, attracting unwelcome attention from the police :whip:
It also depends on who's leading the convoy.
The sheer practicality of trying to keep everyone together is a logistical nightmare.
Unless you're in the first half dozen cars or so, you'll always be playing catchup and run a high risk of getting flashed by a camera when your attention was focussed on trying to keep up :(

I don't think it'll be too bad at night with the less traffic. I know that they have had the odd bit of trouble from the Police, specially at the start before. i think we should do our own, possibly using their route.

If anyone is planning on attending please remember we do not race the route, the idea is that all cars have a map and can make their own way around the planned event with collection points on the way to re-group and an opportunity at the end to have the mother of all photo opportunities !!
The Tunnel Run organisers do not condone any bending/breaking or smashing of the rules of the road.
Friendly BIB will be in attendance throughout the event, do not compromise this, them or any future tunnel events please.
Enjoy and i look forward to meeting some of you this evening !

We have no need for them previously as its been fairly low key, i have a hot line to the BIB and they have one to me to sort out any issues on route...
Everyone will have mapsa nd as long as they obey the Highway code should have no problems, this is not a Convoy !

Let me assure you that we're a careful bunch in here. We're too much in love with our cars to disrespect them, let alone the rules of the road. It's a good hearted event for car lovers and I'd like to think that everyone attending wouldn't want to jeopardise it's future... :thumbs:

cool, I was sad to see the state of the car and I didnt think it would come back.
I wont be going tonight, my supra has sat still for the last 3 months and I need to take it out and check it over before doing anything serious with it.

lol mate i had 45 mins sleep! lol but it was worth it.
You missed out on a very very good night. Probally one of the best meets i have ever been to, athmosphere was amazing, yet there was no one doing anything dangerous. I didnt even see 1 chavy Saxo or Fiesta or Honda civic etc... amazing ehh?

There was a very nice gun metal grey one.
I saw a couple of silver uk specs.
And there was one with a primered front bumper.
I was the one in the standard looking j-spec.

Motor racing. I started out in the Tuscan Challenge in '97. The late Gerry Marshall - whose flamboyant style proved that sideways ISN'T slow - was one of my heroes. My idea of a fun practice session is to take a 536bhp/tonne Tuscan Challenge car out on slicks in the wet. Yeehar!
I wouldn't profess to be a drift expert by any means (need to sharpen up my transitions) but my view is that cars have three steering controls: steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal. A useful trick for pedalling a 702bhp Cobra rep too...

I completely understand though. It's difficult to manage who turns up, and there will always one troublemaker making an appearance. Some of you may have witnessed some very unerving behaviour that night.
That 'bad' behaviour almost ruined it for everyone by endangering others :scare: - in a way, these sort of people could change the face of the whole event. It would spiral out of control through word-of-mouth. :taped:

"Variety adds to the event. Varied safety standards, however, do not."
I'd like to think that we weren't a cause for concern that night.

Out of 62 japanese cars that signed up for the 14th, only 4 were bona-fide Pistonhead members- one of whom had to cancel at last minute. So 58 new joiners just for the tunnel runs with no (or little) contributions to the rest of PH and almost empty profiles- is it any wonder it's gone restricted?
I moderate the PH Jap forum, so drop in and show your faces- you'll recognise a few people from here too.
This isn't supposed to be as arsey as it sounds btw, we are a happy bunch, all welcome.

Yep, apparently that Jap crown let them down. Skyline doing doughnuts at the dome, and an Impreza doing something stupid, but he didn't say. Oh and the Saab 93 was doing handbrake turns.
Devostated!! I was just in the process of organising the drive down with a couple of mate in the Supe. Was really looking forward to this! ive been a member of Piston Heads a while now but never posted on there. I bought my car off there, come to think of it!
Shame about the knobs causing the disturbance! its always the few that spoil it for the many!!

The good thing is, Wkdtime, Ray, Kash, Francis, dal007, monkey3 and I (sorry if I missed anyone) were sole representatives of our club that night and behaved well, so they do know that we're there for the right reasons. So I'd say make your mark on PH as Gav said and we should be welcomed with open arms for future parades. :thumbs:
