Hey guys, I would like to apologise now, im not a supra owner, however please forgive me as i have owned 2 celicas a GT and a GT4 st202 and st205.

Sadly both of those are now gone and their replacement a kit car arrives in just under a month. As such im looking for a suiting engine for my kit car.

Now please dont take offence but a straight six doesn't appeal to me if it did chances were i would have bought a supra already being such nice cars but im more interested in the realms of a V8, i have heard and seen pictures of twin turbo v8 supras in the past but never really paid much attention to the detail so dont know if its true or not.
I have done a search of the forum for V8 but come back with nothing so now i throw it to you all.

Will the 4.0 toyota/lexus V8 fit and work with a 6 speed supra gearbox?

secondly if anyone can help whats the n/a potential of the 4.0 v8?

thidly, wheres the best place to find the above engine and gearbox?

Welcome!

I can't help with specifics but V8 conversions have been done - it might be worth chatting to Thor, they have one in progress (originally a Ford V8 and then a change of plan to a Twin Turbo 4.7 V8 Lexus lump) and were planning to offer conversions, they should be able to help :)

A bit of banter here:

If it starts working again head to http://www.supraforums.com - the US chaps are more likely to have a spare V8 kicking around so do more conversions ;)

For sheer availability of engines, parts and tuning advice you can't really beat the small block Chevy.

In 350ci LS6 form, its the killer lump for a 1000kg kit car :D

The LS1 and LS6 engins are superb units, ali block makes it the motor of choice in my eyes.

sadly being an american unit not commonly produced in this country they are neither cheap nor common.
