hi guys

has anyone got a picture of the plug that plugs into the water temp sensor at the front of the engine,at the top , mine has broken away, the wire is there but no plug and toyota said that they would need the part number or a picture of the pug, not the sensor it's self just the plug, my car is a 1993 j-spec tt

if anyone could help that would be great as car will not start without it.

cheers jay

there are 2 of them...

1 for the gauge and one for the ECU

As far as I am aware the gauge one has 1 wire going to it and I broke mine on Monday.. The temp gauge does not work.

The ECU temprature sensor is just underneath and it has 2 wires going in to it...

the same thing happened to me. i just crimped two connecters onto the wires and plug them into the sensor. as you said without the coolant sensor (ecu) the car will not run.

PS yes the one with one wire goes to the gauge and the one with two wires goes to the ECU

My coolant sensor is what has been giving me the grief with my car. Order a new one so if you need the part number for the sensor here it is:

Y89422-20010 at a cost of £32.03 ex VAT and £37.64 Inc VAT.
