Right, I have got an annoying problem with my central locking.:thumbdown

I have used the search option and it has only confused me even more. When I want to lock/unlock my car I have to use the key. I have changed the switch and that has allowed me to lock the car but won't unlock it again.

I have checked all the fuses and they all seem to be fine but one thing I have noticed is when I took the large block 30 amp fuse out and started to replace it (just making contact) both the doors locked but wouldn't unlock:shrug:

Can anyone please give me a clue as to what it could be or what it is would be better:eyebrows: , I was thinking a relay maybe or a solenoid but am probably wrong.:looney:

Thanks in advance, Martin

I had a central locking problem afew weeks back. I would unlock my door using the key and the passanger side would open as it should. When locking the car only my side would lock.

The switch that locks the doors next to the electric windows would lock the doors but then when pressed again would not unlock them.

Took my door card off and acouple of wires had come disconnected as they had fouled with the window going up and down, reconnected them taped them out the way and now the problem is solved.

Hope yours is as easy as that.

Only the basics really bud, make sure all connections are clean, no trapped wires etc. Just give it a good visual really.

Other than that I would not know.

Cheers

OK mate thanks, Hopefully that will do it. We all like cheap fixes. Can anyone else give me things to check out, like is there a relay for the central locking at all.

I have exactly the same problem, it seems once the engine has turned off i can lock the car and unlock it, however, if i then lock it again and try unlock it with the keyfob the central locking wont work- its wierd and anoying!!!

Isn't it just!

Maybe this is such a common problem people don't like to help with it anymore:tomato:

I will have to have a good look at the weekend if the British weather doesn't spoil it.
