Guest LynnKitts
I have a '98 Supra. Can someone tell me the purpose of the little air foils that pop up when you remove the top other than to make alot of wind noise? Can they be removed or forced to stay down some how? Daston
If they are the same that were on my MR2 I think they are to stop wind buffering
Guest aeroboy
They probably work like a lil wing, keeping the air flow attached and reduces the air turbulence and hence wind noise and etc.
Ark
They deflect the air over the cabin at lower speeds, to reduce noise. At higher speeds (60+) they depress in the wind which causes buffeting, but prevents the wind making nasty whistling noises. No practical purpose - just a little nicety. Ray
I heard they were spoilers to help with downforce
