View Full Version : Best water feed and return possitions..?
Ok Im fitting up my new Oil and Water cooled turbo soon and was wondering if everyione agreed on the locations of the feeds and the return lines...
I was going to take a feed from the top radiator elbow pipe like most people do and for the return I was going to route it to one of the water pipes at the back of the engine..
Any views on the best return pipe to use? Also would I just T the water return in to the line with a t piece of pipe?
Any ideas?
:tumble:
Is the top rad elbow not hot water? Ie uncooled?
Thats where the stock tubbies get there feed from. Return is on a metal pipe near the bulkhead IIRC.
Id use those.

Not sure... I thought it was but Im not sure, Most people seem to take the water feed from that elbow
Most prob correct, but I wondered why, maybe the water is too cold from the bottom.

The top elbow is not a feed it's the return for hot water to the rad ;)
And there is a lovely little feed already sitting there since you are single thats been capped of for the feed;)
Originaly for stock tubbies the 2 ports on the top elbow where for return and the port on the pump ( capped for single) and the samller ID port on the rear steel pipe ( also capped for single) were the feeds for no 1 and no 2 turbos respectively.
HTH
part in quesiton ?
Is the water return elbow.
Great.. Well I can use the elbow as a return and then use a feed that was blocked off from the water pump.
:)
