Question about acrylic laquer

I've used the Plastikote clear acrylic laquer for my dash, but does anyone know how long I should leave it before I can rub it down? Think the Halfrauds tins say 2 weeks :(

Damn, this stuff stinks. No way am I keeping these in the house to 'cure'!

The plasticaote stuff takes ages to cure and doesn't offer a very hard wearing finish. I tried that stuff first but wasn't impressed, ended up using basic body paints and laquers which seem much better. Its been on 18 months and still have no marks.

Edited to add - its all in the preperation. Makes sure you get a really, really smooth prime before painting.

Cheers guys. The only reason I need to rub down the laquer is cos of dust marks! :(

Dead chuffed with the way the first panel has come out though - going for a gunmetal grey kinda colour, should look nice with the blue leds. :) And it's only taken three attempts to get it looking how I wanted!
