Kip
Just been quoted £55 each for BF Goodridge profilers W rated - Fitted!! Any one know anything about these and are they worth putting on for the winter?
toyotasuprauk
What size are these?
toyotasuprauk
Just found this on the net somewhere: The BF Goodridge MT are a good tyre, but if your on a budget, the Colway MT Remould has a virtually identical stud pattern and are much cheaper. I only paid £26/tyre for mine. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=74541&f=91&h=

Kip
Remould!!! on a TT?? Thanks but no thanks. cheers for the thought though. Sizes are for the stock rears - 245.45.16. Not really on a budget, I just like a bargain. Was expecting to pay around 100 to 120 per tyre for Toyo Proxe T1R's, but I was then offered these. Thought I would ask the question. I may just give em a go, at that price I can afford to throw em away if they're no good.
toyotasuprauk
Btw just in case someone is thinking I bought £26 remoulds for my car I didn't! That was just a quote from that site as I thought it was interesting someone compared the two.
markrzs
Did'nt think you'd buy remoulds Adrian, You drive to quick Missed a good night last night a Farimile, althought they should sack the waiters !
Guru
If interesting means scary then yes it was interesting
toyotasuprauk
Although I wish I could get some good rear tyres for £26 each! I will have to come to that one day. I've been trying to get some bits from Steve Manley today but cant get through!
DShox
dont you need ZR rated tyres on your Supra - thats what the stock came with so if you put non-ZRs on I thought it was MOT fail!
KaoriFan
i want to change them, but have Pirelli P7000, they are what came with the car, and they are rated W when i checked, and it passed MOT on them.
DShox
think the tyre might have to be ZR or better therefore.
toyotasuprauk
I don't remember ever seeing anything in the MOT guidelines about the speed rating only the tread depth. Would be quite stupid and funny if you got failed because your tyres were only capable of 130 mph.
Kip
Cheers guys, Ive looked up tyre ratings on the internet and by the looks of it W is a higher rating than that of the ZR. Any comments?
DShox
yup ZR just means 150mph+ - dunno what the top limit is therefore.

mikeyh
also bf goodrich (profiler) is an old pattern now (profiler g) is the new pattern:p
Kip
Had em fitted this morning. And must say after 100 miles or so on dampish roads this afternoon they seem ok - plenty of traction. At a cost of £110 fitted inc. valves and balancing for the pair! Bargain!! Cheers guys.
toyotasuprauk
What exactly did you have fitted Kip I'm after some too and like that price.
Kip
Sorry for late response chap. Had BFGoodrich Profiler G's - 245.45.16's fitted - and to be quite honest they're ok. Fitted etc at a company called Hi Q. I too liked the price and was in deep shock when they told me - as I had just negotiated - what I thought was - a good price on some Toyo Proxe T1R's at 97quid each - not fitted!! Good luck mate. DShox
I was lucky enough to win brand new Dunlop Sports all weather 245/40/ZR18 tyres for only £102 off ebay. yesterday I dropped my car off for alloy refurb (£60 each) and I'll have em swap the tyres then so I dont have to pay anyone for fitment. bargain!
