TT fuel consumption!

Ok, so I've had my Sup for about three weeks. I put £40 worth of BP Ultimate in the car the day I bought it at a cost of £1.01p a litre (No Shell by me)

I've since done 115 miles and I'm almost empty!!! Now I know I've been nailing the car a bit, afterall it's my new motor and can't get enough of it. But surely a TT should get better mpg than that? I'm working it out to around 11mpg. That's worse than I thought, was kinda hoping for around 20mpg.

The only consolation is the BP I bought the fuel from was taken over by Tesco the day after and they never debited my account. But can I expect this kind of mpg in future or is there something wrong with my Sup?

I get a good 270 miles from a tank on normal weekly driving to and from work(shell Optimax). That is staying out of the high boost areas too. When I use BP Ultimate I get about 290 with the above driving.

However if I give it a bit of the loud pedal I have managed 8 - 10 mpg easily.

I notice that 1st and 2nd around town stopping and starting uses up fuel very easily especially if pulling away fast.

Why can't petrol be cheap as chips :(

Reckon I get a similar amount - over 250 easily if cruising.

When putting foot down fuel gauge goes in opposite direction to rev counter!!

motorway cruising is fine but its when ur nippin around town in the low gears that really guzzles the juice, but u dont buy a twin turbo 3 litre car and expect more do you??!!

lol

id be lucky to get 18mpg out of my impreza..remember that power has to go out somewhere'!:sly:

Good start would be to start calculating the MPG rather than how much one pays for the fuel.

I consistently get 20mpg sitting in London Traffic.

£40 will get me 200odd miles, mixed driving.

If I nail it a *lot* then I'll get 150 miles.

I suspect that your oxygen sensor is kaput, or it's full of carbon deposits perhaps. 115 miles is way out of line, you're not counting track days are you? ;)
