Battery misery

I keep getting a flat battery and now me and the local RAC guy are on first name terms. He reckons I do not need a replacement but surely getting no life in 3 days is not normal. ( the car is only used a few days a month at the moment)

I have gone out and bought a jump start pack from Halfrauds but I wonder whether I would be better off buying a new battery. Any recommendations as to which and where to get a new one from??

Thanks

Only using it a few days probably means it's NEVER getting recharged

sufficiently between starts ?

How far is each 'trip' when you DO use it ?

(reckon it takes ~10 miles just to put a 'start' back IN again ! !)

Have you TRICKLE charged it back up to full again ?

I presume the RAC guy checked Alternator output ?

FatS.

(AND... it IS that 'time-of-the-year' of course !)

...and... we use those Jump Start packs at work...

not TOO bad as long as fully charged (they take ~day and a half !! if flat)

but they don't like starting 'across' a nearly dead battery !

The Halfrauds batteries are fine, just a tad overpriced for what they are.

We sell the Lucas ones at work /3 is three year (normal) and /4 is four year.

but the /4's are also slightly BETTER too.

i always like to buy the heavier duty ones (gives me a tad more chance before

it goes completely flat )

I'd say any 'good' brand name should be fine, just not a cheapie (5star etc !!)

FatS.

[~£50 or thereabouts ?!?]

AHHH, but i dare say you run some errr PERSONAL ELECTRICAL ITEMS off

yours Br' ? ? ? ? ?

 :p

Not really a 10" sub dont count as it doesn't draw that much power. I think Roy just liked his bling. I'm not complainin because its a damn good battery and will be going onto my aristo as soon as I get that.

HEY how did it double post that???? I didn't even hit post button and it posted halfway through weird or what?????

Invest in a battery charger then because its not going to matter what battery you get if you aren't charging it off the alternator due to short trips all the time. A better battery will store more oomph but it too will eventually drop down and leave you in the same position as you are now. I want one that can be used whilst the battery is still in the car as I rarely use the car.
