supra-alex Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 whats the rule in terms of the maximum tyre width you can have say on a 16" alloy as mine are currently 225/50/16 ? just wandering if i can get a lower profile still with a 16" tyre ? any advice... Ian W Posted November 29, 2005 Share Posted November 29, 2005 it's not the diameter of the wheel that dictates the width of the tyre mate, it's the width of the wheel. i.e. 8j or 8.5j or 9j etc you can go for a lower profile but to keep the same rolling radius you'd need wider tyres with a lower profile and on a larger wheel........ confused? i am now!
