So if you're driving along, you turn left slightly and the back of the car starts to go out to the right during the turn, they're saying that you should turn the wheel more to the left!!!!????!?!?!?!?!?!? Scoboblio Posted November 25, 2005 Share Posted November 25, 2005 You turn the same direction as the back end's going, ie if your going right round a roundabout the back could go left... turn to the left to balance it out. The complete opposite is correct. If you are going round a right hand bend and the arse end breaks out you need to turn the steering wheel to the left to bring it back. So why do 'they' (people on TV on the news etc trying to prevent accidents) say you should go against your instincts!! Surely not the majority of peoples instincts in the country are telling them to turn the same way as the slide!!! nuttynutz Posted November 25, 2005 Share Posted November 25, 2005 depending on how fast you approached the turn and spinning, if you over correct it, you could end up rolling the car. not that i have ever experienced it, but my dad has. if your losing your back not too fast, then correcting it INTO the direction would be the natural instint. ie. back turning clockwise, steering wheel turn counter clockwise, vice cersa.
