What's with the adjusters on the pedal?

There's a bolt going from the pedal to the cylinder, with a nut on it, do I turn the nut towards the pedal or the cylinder to bring the pedal up? Will it just move the pedal WITH the bite point, or will it adjust the bite point so my clutch isn't resting on the release bearing any more?!!!!!

What about the other bolt coming out the cabin side of the pedal? Rests on a stop of some kind and is bolted front and back to the stop holding it in place. Does this allow more movement of the pedal (again to move the pedal off the bite point [pedal always vibrates and it never did before]), or does that just adjust the position?

Need to adjust it but scared I'm gonna make it worse. :help:

The nut is just a lock nut, you undo that and then turn the shaft itself. It moves the pedal as a whole, which effectively moves the bite point as well. The other bolt is there to limit the maximum height of the pedal. You can adjust it to stop the pedal moving up to its full extent when your foot isn't on it, but be careful because you could easily set it so the clutch never engages properly which will wear things out very quickly.

So the bolt that comes through from the cylinder, you just unscrew the nut a bit and twist the thread itself?!?!?! That doesn't sound right!!

Only the top and bottom of the shaft that goes to the cylinder is threaded, the middle is just a round bar that you rotate after undoing the lock nut a bit. At least it is on mine! That lengthens and shortens the bar which moves the pedal up and down. You'll probably need to hang yourself upside down in the footwell with a torch and you should be able to see.

Nope, it's having none of it!! It seems that none of the nuts are willing to turn.
There seems to be an awful lot of slack between the pedal and the bracket on the push-rod. If I try and turn the nut the whole thing rotates about 30-40 degrees!! I don't wanna tug too hard in case I break something!!
Anyone in the area with a 6spd wanna have a look for me? I need someone to drive it and tell me if they think the bite is too high as well really! Going from the Supe to the Renault I always wheelspin the Renault when I pull away as the bite is so much sooner on the clutch!!
