Recently had to change mine and wanted to do this myself, after a search couldnt find a guide for this on our forum, so thought i'd drop this link here for future reference. :OK:

NA Spark Plug Replacement Guide (http://mkiv.com/techarticles/spark_plugs/na/)

[Hope I've put this in the right place, mods please move accordingly.]

It was a little daunting at first, seeing all the items that need to be removed to access the plugs, but take your time, be patient and its an easy job really! You'll feel very satisfied once you've finished! :) Took me about an hour and a half, start to finish.

You don't really have to draing the coolant do you?!
I knew it was a lengthly job, that's why I left ChrisW to do mine.

No, I didnt. I couldnt see the point of this. Left the throttle cable attached just maneouved (sp?) this out the way, likewise with the induction piping. I didnt change the gasket either tbh, mine was fine, just cleaned everything up and put it all back together. Jobs-a-gooden!

I didn't drain the coolant not necessary.

I tackled this a few months back, took the plastic covers off the cam and the little cover at the rear to expose the HT leads, removed all the HT lead clips then popped out the long spark plug connectors, the two in the middle are fiddly being under the throttle body, used a tilting extension on the plug socket and got them changed out, fair bit of patience involved mind you but it can be done. I was just over an hour to do them this way.
