clifford concept 600 alarm help needed

i have a clifford concept 600 alarm on my car, the car has been off the road for well over 3/4 years now:cry: just managed to finally put it all back together but i have lost the alarm fob, so i need to no how to manually enter the four digit code to disarm system.

ps don't know if its related to the alarm system but when the battery is first connected and the ignition is switched on the ignition lights stay on even when the key is removed:shrug:

I think you punch in your code by pressing one side of the valet button[the raised bit] for each digit separated by pressing the other side of the valet button between each digit.eg say your code is 2345,then you would press the raised side of the rubber valet button twice followed by pressing the opposite side then follow by pressing the raised side three times followed by pressing the other side etc... until your code is entered fully.You should do this without any long break in between digits.Hope this helps mate

the way you enter your code is simple the left botton is the number and the right botton is the space. so if your number is 1234 you press.........

 

 

1........right, left

 

2........right, right, left

 

3........right, right, right, left

 

4........right, right, right, right, left

 

then you should be able to access everything in the cpu

but you need the user guide to tell you what options you have.

Does it have intellistart, that would power up the ignition circuit.

You can pick up new fobs off ebay quite cheap: http://motors.search.ebay.co.uk/clifford_Cars-Parts-Vehicles_W0QQcatrefZC12QQfmcZ1QQfromZR8QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsacatZ9800

and program them to your alarm with the wizard software.

i managed to code in the numbers correct, it does have intellistart. when you turn off ignition and remove keys the ignition stays on until a door is opened. which is a bummer when you have the turbo timer on and leave the car. as once the turbo timer switches the engine off its still looking for the door to be opened before the ignition is switched off.

Sounds like it needs some rewireing, cliffords are VERY sensitive to incorrect installs.

 

You know for very little extra money (just a relay I think) the clifford can take care of the turbo timer duties?

I have been told that the 600 alarm on my 1994 uk MKlV has an internal back up battery in the system that has gone flat and cannot be replaced. This makes it impossible to use the fobs. I have just brought it and I have no alarm but have the central locking on the key in the door. Does anyone no about this and have any ideas ?

the only backup battery i'm aware of is in the siren but that will not stop the key fobs working ?

i bought the software/cable from ebay that allows you to program your key fobs and setting yourself. if that all fails try speaking to matt harwood on this forum he fits/repairs alarms for a living:)

I have the same one, i have the turbo timer function on it all i have to do is on the master (older style fob) press the side button followed by the bottom one. All good till i wondered how long it went for. So on my first day of owning the car i stood there like a t**t for about half an hour wondering how to turn the bloody car off, ended up having to stall it, so callede old owner for him to say press the same buttons to de activate it. Really should get it fitted properly by someone better than whatever gypsy did it before. And i'm sure it has intellistart, anyone know how to activate it?

my siren battery is buggered for some reason now. doesn't chirp when i set it :(

 

the guy who fitted it for me said it wasn't covered under any warranty as it due to me leaving the battery disconnected for too long ?:blink: ?

 

Mine also does this, all i get is a piss poor fart when deactivating it. The bloke at my local clifford place said it was poor fitting and as they never fitted it they would have to rip it all out and refit it so they can reprogram it all.

The only battery back-up is within the siren, (unless they have had a full battery back-up kit fitted, which is very rare). Either way, having a battery back-up will never cause the remotes to not operate.

If you have a Clifford Concept 600 on your car, theoretically, you shouldn't be able to drive the car without deactivating the immobiliser either via a remote or by using the valet code.

The sirens have a 1 year warranty regardless of how long the battery has been disconnected. How do the batteries cope before installation! :innocent:

The batteries usually last for about 3 years.

The siren itself will still work. Only the battery back-up part is buggered. Change the siren and it will all work again.

That's not the turbo timer function. The turbo timer function can only last up to 8 minutes max. Usually set to about 2 minutes.

If your car is a manual, doing the procedure you describe IS for the Intallistarts 'manual start enable'

Thats crap. Some dealers really piss me off with their money grabbing tactics. All they need to do is access the main unit and the programming plug will be accessible.

They can re-program most things simply by using your valet code.

Hey Bro, I know a guy who has been installing all my alarms for a few years now, he has done my MR2 and the supra when they were just imported and he knows his job very well.

He is based in Luton , I dono where about Beds you are but surely worth asking him.

Hey dude, so it has intellistart then? normally before I turn it off I press the side followed by bottom and I hear a relay click and it stays running, I get out and normally wait the 2-3 minutes then have to press side/down to turn it off. If I arm it before shutting it down the proximity sensor thingy more often than not starts beeping like a well used vibrator, as if someone is near the car!

 

I'll try that start procedure when i'm next over to look at my car!!
