Well after 1 week ownership.

Managed to get a set of TEIN c-spanners, for my HA type coilover.

Started to soak them with wd40 and used wire brush to clean them up.

just went to test fit the spanners, they didnt fit very well. just in simply putting over and applying little pressure,

THE BOTTOM F**KING RING DECIDED TO SAY GOODBYE, AND BROKE OFF IN BITS, :complain: :complain: ahhhhhh.

It was seized where they havent been moved for a number of years. I could get them overhauled, but they are discontinued, as they are the old model. If they can be overhauled, and thats a big IF. it would take 4 weeks. probably costing me around 300-400.

Now i have it booked in for a new set of TEIN SUPER STREET Damper with Upper Mount, thats just over another 1k, ahhhh

specs:

* High performance and cost effective.

* 16 levels of damping force adjustment ( compression and rebound together ).

* Ride height adjustable.

* New paint coating for rust prevention. (rust prevension is what i need)

* Pillow ball mounts are optional ( on certain applications ).

* Available for overhaul. (they would say that, are they expecting them to break up)

I believe the EDFC is compatible with this?

Does anyone have any experience of these shocks?

Alloy threaded rings on steel bodies.... Nice! Height adjustable dampers are fine on race cars that see no salt and are scrupulously cleaned and oiled, on road cars they are a PITA and usually totally OTT, how many people with road cars actually constantly play with ride height and corner weights for gods sake? And you are buying some more?

the super street are not as bad as the ones i have on the car, i know the threads are made of monkey metal

the super street are not that adjustable.

i havent gone for another totally stupid set. which can be raised/lowered around 150mm

Decide on the height, do the corner weights and assume 3 months later that if you want to re adjust they will be seized, and you will save potential future problems. Somebody makes stainless bodied height adjustables, that would be sensible for a road car.

Looking at the state of those threadsd I could of told you that they weren't going to move, my HKS where no where near as bad as those, and mine just would not shift, I even had trobule removing them when I had cut through both sides with a hacksaw.

mate go for the super street i love them i would not even bother going for the top mounts contact leon at jps he has loads of stock top mounts kicking about and put them on thats what i did and the ride is fantastic now plenty of adustment on them

I had Super Street and EDFC and it was great - this was on my GTR however.

Wasn't anywhere near 1k though (unless you are including the EDFC price?).

price with top mounts is 870. then 3hrs fitting and setup, up get my drift. 1k easily

needs to be sorted asap, its a daily driver, so super streets are on as of monday

ive allready ordered the kit, and is booked in. 658 is retail price without top mounts,

Supra owners are getting ripped off - the GTR kit is about 720 including the topmounts!

hmm, where you get ures from then. the retail price is the same

feel for ya - i bought C-spanners and wd40'd the rings...they werent moving! but i measured the springs and found they were set correctly anyways so didnt move em pricey reinstatement tho!

I paid about £720 - either way it was less than £800 from Rising Sun Performance!

yeh, but they mainly deal in skylines, so perhaps this is why its cheaper. already in stock,maybe
