Not exactly being a small bloke at 6 foot 5 and carrying a few pounds the seating position in my supra made me wonder who has thier seat in what position,I have mine fully back with the bottom dropped to the low and a little dent on my door card where my elbow sits,My mate drove the car being similar height to me and had the seat set that his knees were almost on the dash!,I couldnt even get myself in the car after he been in it!,Whats the norm for most people?

i bought a tiptronic so i could be lazy and/or change gear when i want to - lazy all the time to be honest especially when on the M25 or M40 when the traffic stops! I read a review saying that using the thumb shifts actually changes faster than the full auto mode. think (was it dimarko?) had an auto box - most likely some race spec type though?

We've been here before haven't we? :tut:

You need to position the seat so that you are comfortable, and you can rest your wrist on top of the wheel with your arms almost fully out (very slightly bent), make sure your back's straight etc.

FORGET your legs COMPLETELY, if you set your arm length and your legs don't fit then the car is badly designed or you just simply are not made for that car - sorry.

Most people get in mine and put the seat back straight away, but it really is the best position.

I posted this before on a thread and a couple of people came back saying how much more control they have after trying it out!!

Arms are most important though, and to get the optimum amount of 'bend' you need to put your arm straight out and rest your wrist on the wheel. Then when you grab 10to2 your arms will be bent the right amount. The legs really aren't important (because they don't steer you!!).
