Hi there... I have no glue about subs and amps... If I have two subs with 600 watts rms dual coil 4 ohms... Can I use one mono amp with 1500 watts rms at 1 ohm? Will this work?
Thanks...
if you have 2 x 4 ohm subs then the amp will see them at 2 ohm when wired up.

Thanks buddy... So I need an amp that produces at least 1000 watts rms at 2 ohms to run 500 watts each?
Thanks...
500 w is the maximum rating. You dont want to run the amp or the subs at full power or you might get distortion, plus you'll go deaf and blow all the windows out .lol. I assume your amp is 750w RMS at 2 ohm which should be plenty for your speakers.

Cool thanks... So with 500 watts each I will blow my windows??? ;-)
Nahhhhhh. This is my setup http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=47970 and i've still got my glass
Btw..the glass-breaking thing is a myth :) There are plenty of things that will give way before the glass :)
not quite a myth! i was at a car show at NEC a good few years ago. a tranny van was seriously kitted out with subs. they drove it into a perspex room thing. tuned it on remotely, turn it up and bang, the glass shatterd, and sort of slid out of its fixings! it didnt go flying or anything like you would think (or like in the movies)
