J-Spec Headlight Cleaning In Progress

I've wanted to do this for ages, so gathered my tools together today, and set about taking my headlights out of my Soop and riping them apart to clean those nasty yellow lenses. (An exciting Saturday night!!)

Ok, started just after 5pm, my lounge is covered in newspaper, headlights and tools everywhere! I have just managed to remove the first lense and started cleaning the plastic. But can I just say.... what a BI7CH it is to soften that silicon and prise the two sections apart. I've been going - :complain:

I've decided that I need a break, time for a kitkat and sit back and chill for a minute. And secondly, to let my aching fingers have a rest!

At this rate im going to be up until 2am, good job the clocks go back tomorrow! ;)

Here's a photo of my mess. I'll take a photo once there done, im sure it'll be worth all the sweat and tears.

 NO!!! - Hope they go back together easier than when I took them apart!

used a heat gun in the end.

Once these are back together I have NO intention of doing this again! Its a nightmare! Although, when I see them back on the car, looking all clear and clean i'll be loving it!

Make sure you seal them properly, I had to take mine apart again a week later cos they where full of condensation

Ah, right, I will put an extra layer of silicon round them I reckon, just in the process of putting the first one back together.

:thanks:
