A worrying moment happened today

i experienced my first 'should i be concerned' moment today when a couple from across the road knocked on the door and said they saw 4 men (1 asian, 3 white) get out of a white tipo and started filming my N/A 96 with a camcorder !!

they did however get the number plate so if i c them again then i'll give it to old bill.

it was around 5.40pm this happened and apparently lasted for 5 mins while i was in the dining room on the pc internet banking before i go to vegas on monday am. Not what you want to hear before you leave the car alone for a week, i have since driven to top of driveway with me dad car behind it

Why would they film it, it was getting on dusk, rain on the windows it couldnt have been good footage ? Very strange ?

Anyone heard of this before..............

id remove all fuses, the battery, invest in a wheel clamp and bolt it to the house... unless you have a garage

Remove the fuses as well just to be extra safe!

Nah, you'll have to reset all your radio stations and your alarm won't work. Just remove the EFI fuse from the under bonnet fusebox.

which colour is the efi fuse ? not my strongest area....

yeh got it cheers so thats 2 i take out not 1 ?

lol id take both out and remember to take out you spare 30amp fuse in the lower part of the box

Also disconnect the igniter box and reconnect but without pushing home youd never notice it had been done

Can you park it at a mates or something instead?

Or just unplug the loom from the ECU and put the carpet back all tidy!! They'd never think of that!!

if it is true and your neighbours did see some guys filming your car you can be sure that its not a for a college project, do whatever you can to protect you car, thats why i suggested removing all fuses, wheel clamp and whatever else you can do, unplugging the ecu loom is a good idea so id parking it somewhere else.

take the seats out and steering wheel? lol

just a suggestion, but this is public side of the forum, would it be a good idea to move to members only, in case any scallys are reading the forum to check for security tips

I don't know what your local force is like, but might it be worth notifying them, if nothing else they might just keep a look out in that area? I guess I'm being hopelessly optermistic here arn't I?

yeah, move the car, that's probably the best idea at the end of the day. If you know someone who can look after it while you are away. Or could you rent a secure garage for a short while?

Notify the police with the reg no. There may be other instances where the police can link this vehicle and its owner. Other people may have reported similar shady behaviour and the more evidence the better.

I would personally report it to the police, give them the details of the other car and then give them your cars details, if they wanted to clone your car to do naughty things at least the police wont come looking for you as you would have reported this incident first.

I had this, pretty much same situation but they were in a 4x4 with tinted windows, guy on the same road had them looking at his GTO, I went up and had a word and we both reported it to the police as suspicious behaviour.

Report it and block the car in with something hefty (mate of mine has a bobcat which does the job lol)

I'm not surprised your worried. Someone in a another Supra I've seen looking at mine a few times and my road is a dead end. Its probably totally innocent but I nearly had a heart attack when I heard a noisy car speed off at 6am this morning.

Phone the old bill with the car reg your neighbors got, it might be known to them?
