I was in the same situation and took option 4:

Decatt + associated mods. Best thing I ever did!!

For Option one you can do the headlights yourself for £20 or so, plus £100 for the rest of the lights, so that’s a pretty cheap mod. The OEM skirts and spats are pretty hard to get hold of so you're probably best off waiting until something comes up IMO.

ok looks like im going for the sensible option then

i worked out that brakes would be

660 for four calipers

300 for 4 discs from toyota

around another 50 for other bits and bobs

tis seeem about right or am i way off?

Yeah I also agree with Terry and Homer, I'd go BPU first with a decat (well thats actually what I have done as my uk brakes are still waiting to go on) and it completely transforms the car.

I'd go something like:

BPU with a full decat (not costing that much)

UK front brakes (maybe through Nic or secondhand)

Left over cash may buy you OEM side skirts or headlights maybe?

Then I'd add the rear brakes if I felt the car needed it

I'll get flamed for suggesting you don't change all the brakes at once, but really under hard braking most of the brake "effort" is on the front anyway.

BPU will transform your driving enjoyment of the car thats for sure :)

ooooo crap... what size wheels do i need to clear uk brakes?

n00b

Minimum 17", but it really depends on the design. Post up the wheel type and size, it may be that another member has the same wheels and knows if they fit. Alternatively see if there is a member local to you with the larger brakes and try you wheels on his car to see if they fit.

what ya reckon?

Are they 18's?

If they are 18's then the rears will fit no problem, the front though would require a 5-8mm spacer to allow the spokes of the wheel to clear the caliper.

I know this, as I use to have the exact same wheels on mine with a 5mm spacer fitted, see photos attached.
