Folding Mirrors

I have a set of folding mirrors for a uk speck i think? Where can i get a harness from, and do i need any other bits fo fit them to my jspec? I have noticed that the harness connector is different than on the jspec one, its much bigger.

UK mirrors were heated Japspec were either flippy or heated but never both. I think it was a factory option and the loom end plugs were different for each type AFAIR.

Nope, they definatley came of a uk car, as I also had the Odometer etc.. and they were all in MPH not KPH, and they were untouched. Mind u the car was a NA Aerotop.

Still doesnt help me in wiring these mirrors. Mines a Jspec, and the connectors are completely different. (when I said electric, i meant folding)

Have you got a pre-facelift? They never had folding mirrors so they probably won't have the same connectors.

Mines a 94 N/A J-spec has one heated mirror on passenger side as the drivers one is playing up grrrrr !!! ...not folding though, but my old N/A which was a 95 N/A had just folding !!! why not make them allt he same so much easier

Mine were folding now I have had to change them as one got pranged off and some twonk vandalised the other side to even it up for me. I got them from toyota with the bigger plug on it. Now they don't fold and don't heat either so I'm a bit miffed.

Generally speaking you get the heated J-spec ones with a smaller plug fitting and the retracting J-spec ones with a bigger plug. The heated ones heated element come on when you put the rear screen de-mist on. The retracting ones have a switch on the dash on the right hand side of the steering wheel. I have no idea what type I have got as there is no wiring to the glass no motor for retracting but still the bigger plug.

Still dont know how to wire them in. Apart from the plugs are there any othe rdifferences, and is there any more equipment needed to make them retract etc.. if not does anyone know the pinout for them?

What leads to confusion is the options jap owners had wiith the MKIV. There were the standard models, but in all but the top spec GZ's' everything else was an option. You sometimes see cars with a low spec vin plate but quite a lot of higher spec items added as factory extras. I guess it was all down to dealership offers in Japan. Just a small mine field really. My car has a fairly low spec vin but has lots of extras only fitted as standard on higher spec models:faint: So i am guessing that the Jap dealer that sold the car had some special deals going on on Sake special week.:ecstatic:
