For those like myself who are under 25, have 3 points on their license, no claims bonus and less than 1 years driving experiance, give M & S a ring. I've just took out fully comp insurance for my 93 J spec N/A and am only paying £1800, £300 excess! That's £600 cheaper than what my MX-5 costs to insure! Even Highway currently insuring my Mazda wanted £3500 + £1000 excess and that's with a discount! Glad I shopped around :woot:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/CARS/motoring/ins/insurance-centre.jsp

The link came from autotrader, just fill out the questions and it's a bit like confused.com. My quote also included what's called a new starter discount. I'm actually insured with Zenith and M & S financial services acts as a broker!

Here's their direct number 0870 0601091

+ it get's better with FREE breakdown cover/legal cover!

Im 20 on a J-spec N/A been driving 3 years, with 9 points (all of which expire next year, yipee) FC with 1 NCB in a safe post code £1251 with adrain flux & £300 excess. Which to be honest, I snapped there hand off. (and it is states mkiv on the paperwork)

The above is also with 5000 limited miles though and a compulsary CAT 2 or better security system, the car came with a CAT 1 though.
