How to fit facelift rear lights?

If you remove the piece of plastic trim that runs along the back of the boot you will see that those cables go into a couple of small plugs (one each side). Simply unplug and remove the old lamps complete with cables. Fitting is the reversal of removal. However you may have a problem with your "lamp out" warning sensor but you'll have to do some more reseach on that, I didn't have a problem so didn't need to look into it.

I got all the trim off and the lights unbolted easily. However, the wire that leaves the light goes through the body work then connects to its connector. By looking at it, the connecter looked too big to bring back through the hole (for the wires) in the body work. Is this correct or can you pull it out easily without cutting the large connect/wires off?
