After buying a single pocket for under the stereo. (http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=48707)
I tried fitting it this morning, got it in about the right position, plugged everything in and the stereo powered up and started playing Van Halen at loud volume, so I turned it off so I could concentrate on screwing things in and putting the dash back together. Once everything was in place I found that the stereo doesn't work. Not even a bit, no power - nothing.
I pulled the dash off again checked the connections and even plugged in a different stereo I have only to find that one didn't work either. I've had a nose at the brown 7.5a stereo fuse in the drivers kickwell and it looks ok (although I haven't tested it).
If it's not the fuse and the connections are ok and the stereo works. What could it be? I'm really hoping nothing serious has fried behind the dash, I'm not an electrician and am a touch worried about this. Anyone got any ideas?
