Hi Guys,

I've been very dissapointed with my single din pocket for quite some time, when I accelerate the contents of which usually end up in the back seat....but no more!

I decided to have a nose around to see what else I could get when I discovered a unit that belongs to a Subaru Forester. It has a silver lid that has a dampened sprung opening mechanism that's really nifty.

The part number for this is:-

S66128SA000

The item is:-

POCKET ASSY CTR.

The price including vat, postage and packing (delivered in a nice box to my home) is £16.04.

I haven't tried fitting it yet but it looks to be no problem with little fettling, all the holes etc seem to match the current pocket.

I got the unit from TH White Subaru in Cirencester on 01285 653354 and dealt with a chap called Nick. Most Subaru dealers I tried wanted a chassis number and refused to help if they didn't have one (sound familiar?) but this guy would take just the part number. It took about 2 weeks to arrive cos it had to come from Japan.

Don't ask for a Supra Owners Club discount though cos the answer is no (or was t me anyhow) ;-)

I've attached some photos too - I took the photo's with the unit upside down DOH - so just flip the photo around the right way up!!

Hope this is useful to you chaps, take it easy,

Paulie.

Ive seen this in an Impreza, its very smart in there, colour would need to be matched though i think to look right in the Supra

I dunno if you can get them seperately but the Toyota RAV4 has a neat double din stereo in it if someone wants a double din replacement that keeps it looking stock.

No probs, I'll put a pic up when it's installed. I have to test fit and get it painted first (my dash is a metallic grey colour).

Agreed the stereo in the Rav 4 is a nice double din unit. I've got one of the sony double din's from the current celica knocking around here although I haven't fitted it yet to see what it looks like in the supe.

Any news on this? Looks like a good item but have to wait and see if it fits and works ok first.....

Does this mean the lid flips upwards towards the roof? Would that not get in the way of the stereo in the above DIN slot? Just a thought?

The colour looks like it may match the VVTi dash?

Was thinking the same, might be a little dark in colour though.
