View Full Version : Rear Speaker Dimentions
Hi guys I wish to change my rear speakers to something with more bass as it all sounds a bit flat any ideas A) what shape they are and B) what size they are. Also what do you guys use I dont really want to spend mega bucks and not looking to make my ears bleed just need to balance out the fronts.
Cheers
Approx 6.5", round.
The Focal Access 165CA are popular on here.
Just lever off the grill and have a look.
iirc it's something like a 167.5mm fitting but a 165mm or 170mm speaker will fit with a little adjustivisation, i have infinity reference 170mm - good sound, don't expect any bass from such a small unit with no proper enclosure

what fits in the rear wing enclosures as i took the plastic off the interior of my motor to take out the enclosure as my infinity speakers didnt fit into it
I dont want loads of bass its just my front ones seem to be pure treble, oh how do you get the front speaker grill off?
the bass i get from the rears can't really be heard over my exhaust lol - depends how quiet your car is though...
i'd also like to know that, think you may have to take the door panel off, could be wrong though

You have to remove the door panel! :(
Hmm dont really want to do that just to find out what is fitted in there
The front speaker is small, 3.5"- 4" or something - cannot remember.
To fit a larger speaker you need to make a new bracket to hold it and discard the plastic housing which holds the original one.
Easy to replace the rear ones but more work required if you want to replace the front ones.

Not a tricky job matey, just a few screws to undo. A search on here will throw up some threads telling you how to do it. I'm spanner-to-car-phobic and I did it!
Hmm may well give it a go I know they are not stock just want to see what they are
