Quick Q.

My new head unit has an output of 4x35W. Any idea what fuse I should be putting in the power line? It came with a fuse holder but the fuse was blown and rather foolishly I threw it away and didn't make note of what it was. I then had to make a new box up with a noise filter in it so I moved the fuses to there,

The permanent feed has a 1.25A in it. Just to be over-cautious I also put a 1.25A in the main (switched) power line. Rather amazingly this worked until I put Rammstein on and cranked it up a bit :) as soon as I started creeping up the volume, I guess the fuse's days were numbered.

If I do a simple peak power calc then it comes out at just over 11A but that seems very high just to protect for peaks at high volume.

Any suggestions? (ICE stuff isn't my stong point).

It should be marked on the head unit somewhere.

No idea sorry, but you have excellent taste in music if I may say so without brown nosing :D

Just done a quick google, does this help?

Hokay...

I went into a local ICE shoppe and asked them. They reconed that 10 amps wasn't out of the question but advised me to check (and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it myself) the ICE power fuse in the main fusebox and not to go above that. In the Supra this is 7.5A so I'll be fitting the next one down (6.3A) and seeing how that goes.

I will, however, have to upgrade the wire in the ISO adapter harness that I made up, which is a pain. Better than a fire though! :-)
