mr2 turbo

i had one of these this morning for a couple of hours, it was a j plate import.....surprised how much poke it had to it! on par with my old alfa gtv v6

They are cracking little cars mate, and can be upto interesting bhp without breaking the bank. Mid engined, RWD and at least 220bhp depending on revision. Not expensive to buy or maintain either.

But obviously a Supra's better (Matt adds quickly as he remembers where he is )

mate of mine has one, standard bar decat - very lovely!

yeah was well impressed with it! BUT just wasn't the same as a soop! pulled pretty well at about 3000 rpm!

I used to have an MR-2. Brilliant car, totally loved it.

I'm super lardy and find them very roomy - you must be a man mountain if you struggle.

Have you tried one for size? Being wedged inbetween the petrol tank and the door is cheaper than a bucket seat anyway

TBH Michael, the one I tried had these bloody Sparco seats fitted - the ones with the wrap around wing effects - and they were shit useless for a big guy like me. I havent tried the standard seats.

They are quite seriously under-rated due to the hairdresser/90s mid-life crisis image of the MR2. Having the engine over the rear axle makes them fantastic for launching and the later revision ones get very good 1/4 miles times on par with supras

I think you disrespect the mr2 turbo to compare it to a scrabbly,poorly built FWD Alfa!!!

I had one, and would quite happily get another - alot of car for little money, great fun too.

2 MK1's, and 3 MK2's (one a tubby) over the past couple of years and love them to bits.

Tubby is a cracking piece of kit and intend to have one again next year

My ol' mr2 turbo was great,the guy I sold it to works with me so i still get to take it our quite regular.

Because of the power at the back it always reminds of having a piggy back from a well built dwarf

(im 6'3 so u can get my drift!)

I had one of these before i had the supe. very under-rated indeed. and with decent exhaust and induction sounded awesome! brilliant little car, so much fun had in it!! not in the wet mind, it got very tail happy in the wet!!

got quite good at drifting it as a result though!
