turbo kit on ebay

Didn't Greg have a problem with this kit because there's no way to secure the exhaust downpipe to the turbo? IIRC he had to get a flange welded on to the turbo, which later broke.

Have you looked at yours Abs? How is the exhaust going to connect to the turbo outlet?

yes there is no flange and one has to be welded. had mine done. the welder has giving me confidence of the a quality weld. had to buy some special electrodes for the welding process which are 99% nickel :)

Jake,

The problem was with the muppets at RGS motorsports who sent the unit out to a welder who did not know what he was doing !!!!

After having it done by a welder who knows what he is doing and using the right gear there has been no more problems.

Samsupra37s car has also the same kit and welding again with no problems.

As Abbs pointed out if you use the right rods then fusion can occur with strong results, we tested this buy getting the welder to weld a flat stainless bar to a lump of cast and then parked a landrover on the lot and left it there for around a week with people jumping in and out, it's still in one bit, also just to make sure we chucked it in the oil burner a couple of times and then into cold water to see if we could get it to crack, no cracking yet !!!!!!

Anyway point is Turbofit uk can now supply the hot snail with Vband incorporated and it's a simple exchange so no need to weld anymore.

:thanks:
