View Full Version : New DIY ICE install with pics!
Ok, as i've had a few days off work due to illness i thought i'd post up my recent ICE installation a couple of weeks ago. The whole process took just under 3 days and meant us taking the whole car to pieces! Here they are!

First took the door panels off and start poking through some cables

The cables come through into the car via this gromment in the driver's footwell

In case anyone was wondering what it looks like, this is the old standard amp. What a beauty! NOT!

In terms of size, this is roughly how big it is

Here's one of the door templates used for the new focal components

The finished result.
Sounds soooo much better!
I chose to put the sub near the front of the boot so that it cannot be seen through the gap between the boot blind and rear seat.
Let me know your thoughts!

looks a real nice neat job m8 full marks :music:
Good photos C and proper job of the install :thumb:
It's always a bit scarey seeing your car stripped like that, but after you've done it once you realise that is a piece of cake to strip and put back together again.
If anyone else is considering doing their own ICE install, Heckler has done some great instructions HERE (http://www.internetwork.org.uk/supra.htm) about removing dash, door cards, etc.
Cheers.
The photos were actually taking using my W800i phone

Ahhh... a silver Supra in pieces. All too familiar to me :(
Good work - you took the old amp out, but did you put the new one in it's place or bung it somewhere else?

very nice mate - im literally going to be doing this tomorrow morning - got my MDF ready!
although my car is a LOT more stripped than that (has been for 3 months now!) and im not totally sure i have all the bits so far!
Very nice mate :)
Is the new amp underneath the false floor? If so, is it seperated from the sub (i.e. sub boxed in)? Just wondering how it's reacting to the ventilation in that area.
looking good m8... nice install
Cheers guys!

Its enclosed in a seperate little box from the sub. All secured down. We have actually cut into the original polysteirene (sp.) to house part of the amp. Fits very snug though!
Sorry to drag up an old thread but this is exactly the kind of install I want to build in my Supra's boot.
Did you trim the new MDF floor with carpet or is that the original carpet with a hole cut out for the sub?
Nice thorough job, I like that. Did you dynamat/brown bread the car while it was stripped? Any annoying rattles especially in the doors, as I have one in the passenger side which needs sorting.
Looks very nice :D
Good Job
How much mm is that MDF piece you used for the front?
