Ariel Problem

I've changed the std stereo in my supra for a Double din Alpine sat nav unit from a Honda CR-V. Its taken ages to work out all the wires, and one of the only things that i havn't got working is the ariel. It used to work im my VDO Dayton stereo with an adapter plug (the connectors were different) but when i Installed the Alpine unit the ariel fitted straight into the connector at the back, but does not extend at all when the stereo is on. Does any body have any Ideas? There are a couple of wires from the back of the stereo that say something about the ariel on them. do these have to be connected to make it extend. if so to what?

yeah there's a "remote" lead which is used to raise the antenna & switch on amps and stuff. It could be blue but I might be talking rubbish.
For a minute I thought you'd be talking about an alergy to biological washing powders or something.. ;)

Fixed it, power cable on loom wasn't connected. thanks for your help
