View Full Version : Squeaky clutch pedal & handbrake
Hello all
When I depress the clutch pedal I can hear a squeaking noise. This only seems to be when the engine is off. Also when I release the handbrake there is a similar squeaking noise.
Any ideas what these are, does something just need greasing???
Cheers
Jon
Anyone got a more technical answer? ;)

i get it on the clutch some times when its cold, but it goes once the car has warmed up !
Well as no-one has reacted to this with any suggestion that this needs sorting I will live with it, cheers all.....even you jokers!!!
I think you were right, something does need greasing or lubricating! :)
Jon, the squeaking clutch is most likely at the pedal. If you get right down into the foot well try a bit of spray grease where the pivot is. Sorted it for me :)
Not sure about the handbrake though... where does the sound come from, is it in the cabin or at the rear of the car?

Cheers Homer, I'll give that a try as it's starting to grate on me a little!! As for the hand brake the sound come from the rear!!! :(
I know what you mean, little rattles are squeeks are fecking annoying!!
You could try lubricating the handbrake cable in the areas in the pic, other than thats its probably going to be a spring in one of the rear drums.
