View Full Version : problem with auto box
ok well my O/D light has been flashing and i checked for codes and its a code 38 which means 'open or short in fluid temperature sensor', where is the sensor located and how easy is it to replace?
lol so nobody has ever had to replace their Automatic tranmission fluid sensor? ah well its a first then, i'll let you know when i get my new sensor from toyota.
There's a few sensors in the gearbox. They can all be seen from under the car and are on the side of the box, between the box and the transmission tunnel. IIRC there are four seperate electrical connectors, all but one are on the passenger side.
I would start by checking the integrity of each connection. They do get covered in a lot of grime. 10mins with some WD40 might save replacing a sensor.
ah thank you jake, i'll get the car up on a ramp and have a good look.
Robert,
Looking at the epc pic, looks like the sensor sits on top of the gearbox.
Part no. 89429-30010.
Rear shocks ordered for Wed.
