Sorry - I'm confusing things a little.

What I mean is you can't import any car after 97 without a model report.

Any car younger than 10 years and pre 97 needs an SVA.

Price depends on what needs doing to get it through. SVA test itself is 150 quid I think...plus all conversions to MPH, fog lights etc. etc.

Sorry Pete I'm being dim ! So would a 1997 6 speed TT be okay ? It's not 10 years old, so I thought it would need an SVA - but 'any car after 97' would suggest a 97 car is okay ?

Cheers buddy

I think it's from 1st Jan 97, so you can't import a 97 car.

You could in theory have a test conducted to the appropriate Directive standard (Directive Test) for CO2/Fuel Consumption which is the area you need for post 97 cars. There's only a couple of places that do them, they would be very expensive I suspect and I think the basic problem is that the TT Supra just wouldn't pass, and nobody is going to risk importing a car only to find out it can't be registered.
