Daston Posted August 22, 2005 Share Posted August 22, 2005 Think the Soop is suffering from saggy bum syndrome when pulling away hard (this could be related to right foot syndrome) there seems to be too much play in the rear suspension than I would have thought. Yesterday I pulled away hard and I think my wheels hit the wheel arch, made a light banging noise I eased off and it stopped could this just be exhaust popping? The car has only done about 68k miles so I’m sure that it hasn’t worn, is there normally a lot of movement in the rear?? Cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
supRo Posted August 22, 2005 Share Posted August 22, 2005 Nope, doesn't sound normal! could be because of a whole load of reasons, possiblysub frame bolts e.t.c. Get the car on a ramp and get someone who knows what they're doing to look around. What mods do you have? engine/suspension/wheels??? tbourner Posted August 23, 2005 Share Posted August 23, 2005 What colour are your shocks? Yellows shouldn't have that much play, well neither should greys really but they are softer! Try pushing down on the boot edge (with the boot open) and see how far it goes down and whether it rebounds nicely or just stops. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I tried the whole pressing down on the boot and it seemed nice and firm to me just sprang back up with no bouncing.
