Hi Pete, is following our conversation this evening?

I'll be able to tell you tomorrow if there's much difference going from 265 to 255. I'm expecting nothing noticeable as its only 4% extra contact area with the 265.

Edited to add - the 265's are £148 fitted, the 255's £103 (Bracknell tyres - probably the cheapest F1 suppliers around!)

Yeah :)

I know there are a few that run with wider rears but, is it worth the extra ££ - I'm not so sure.....?

I'm happy with the stock 255's but....thought I'd ask on here anyway....it *might* be worth a try ??

Michael, (Mcanny), tell us how your 275's are ?

On stock springs, Bilstein suspenders and Lex rims, I'm using 285/35/18 PZero on the rear and 255/40/18 on the front.

It tramlines more than stock and has maybe a little more road noise. Dry grip is good but wet grip seems worse.

Looks nice though

I swap between 255's and 275's now and again as my road wheels have the wider rubber and most of my spare track tyres are 255s. I personally find the car a lot more planted with the wider rubber but as has already been said road noise is increased and tramlining more noticable but it's still not too bad unless you are on the farm track sections of the A1.

I'm only using Falken tyres but they seem to do the trick, once more power appears I'll need to get better ones though as you can still break traction with BPU (+ or whatever I am) if you try hard enough :)

Well when I had the 245s on the back, they were cheap rubber too, in the slightly damp, I put my foot down in 4th, and when 2nd turbo came online at approx 115 leptons the rear wheels started spinning!! That must have been interesting for the little escort I was overtaking at the time! :p
