attilauk Posted August 16, 2005 Share Posted August 16, 2005 does anyone know of a good place where i can get a reconditioned Power Steering pump from? or a good condition second hand one? mine packed up on track on monday then blew up as i pulled onto my drive (after crawling home) a couple of other questions is there any difference between the UK and J spec PS pump? when the pump let go is it likely to have damaged anything else? cheers Rich Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Jake Posted August 16, 2005 Share Posted August 16, 2005 Depending on what failed inside the pump it might have ditributed bits of broken bearing/whatever throughout the steering's hydraulic system. At the very least a full PS fluid flush should be done when fitting the replacement pump. You really don't want seals in the steering rack being damaged by stray bits of metal in the PS fluid. I'm fairly sure I've got a spare J-spec PS pump in my garage if that's any good for a UK spec. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
