Replacing keys barrel, doors

anybody done this, do i need special tools, can a competent mechanic take the igniton barrel out or is it a right twat to do.


any feedbck most welcome.

or does anybody have a guide to do this cheers

I can do the door ones, dunno about the ignition barrel though.

there not too bad to be honest, just have to stip everything off the lock barrel (there a nut and spring on the back) there a metal coller on the front which i prised off, stick the key and turn slightly and pull the barrel out

if you dont have the old key. you will have to press the pawls down on the old barrel to slide it out, dont really need the key, it just makes it a bit easier. If you remove the barrel without the key, make sure the pawls dont spring out as the springs are very small!
