View Full Version : AEM wiring
Where do people get a power feed from for the AEM wideband 02 sensor. The instructions say a 20 amp supply!!
Thanks

try the raid or cig lighter . i have mine plumed in on the cig lighter.
Surely the cig lighter wiring isnt man enough if it wants a 20 amp supply?
My instuctions say 10amp, i have spurred off the cigarette lighter (15 amp) and used a inline 10amp fuse

Ignition barrel supply.
Mine runs off the power feed to the stock ECU. I think.

Edit - I've got the electronic module one, not the module-in-the-gauge job, doh, different kettle of fish.
either from the ecu or the fuel pump. Fuel pump might be best cause the sensor only gets power when the car is actually RUNNING. and not on the ignition switch (which can reduce the life of the sensor)
I thought that running the car when the sensor hasn't got power is what reduces it's life? Not running the sensor when it hasn't got exhaust?
You are the AEM expert though :)

If the sensor is hot before engine is started, it *can* shatter if subjected to exhaust condensation.

Just resurrecting this after doing a search, as i want to switch my wideband Innovate LM-1 from its current sig lighter feed to the ECU ign power feed, to obviate any grounding offset problems, and i see that IanC has his from the ECU, and just wanted to ask if this has caused any problems? i presume you are also powering up your emanage via this to?
I would imagine that the ECU draws a fair current, so would adding another possible 4amp draw cause any problems?
Any electronics people care to comment?
