View Full Version : Air intake/radiator bolt

Doe's the bolt in the picture have any other purpose than holding down the plastic air intake.I removed mine to do a bit of work and started loosing water from my rad.
i'm asuming i now have a leak :sly:

the only purpose is to hold the intake duct down. somebody hasnt put an overly long self tapper in there have they? the leak is probably coming from the top rad pipe. change that shite spring clip for a jubilee style one

youve probably punchered the top of the radiator (where the screw holds the air intake down). You can get that sealed with some rad sealant...worked on mine.

I think Imi is right, that screw is probably too long and has punchered the rad. Bit of sealant should sort it!

You can get replacement screws from Toyota, they're a rip off price (like £1 each) but at least it stops things like this happening.

Ive just ordered a new rad but i'll give that idea a try and see how it go's and maybe cancel the rad
