Just fitted some bulbs.

UK bulbs into JDM lights. Saw the little tabs which need cutting down but we managed to fit the bulbs securely without any filing.

How essential is it to cut them down? Should I actually do it just to be sure or can I leave them as is?

I find the ring around the bulb is the restriction, not the tabs. It's slightly wider and needs dremmel action to reduce it. If they fit well then don't worry about it.
