Hi guys, sorry up to my neck interviewing tottie    so have been a bit late with this post but :

Starting at the Mitre Oak pub on the A449 between Worcester and Kiddiminster; meet at 10 am (probably leaving about 10.30)
A449 into Worcester
Negotiate the one way system round Worcester following signs for the A449, Malver & Ross.
Take care of the speed check & speed camera in the 30mph zone just after Worcester race course.
Pick up the A449 out or Worcester signposted Malvern / Ross.
Through Malvern, keep on the same A449 following signposts to Ross
Before entering Ross, and just after crossing the M50, pick up signs for Gloucester, M5 & Cheltenham on the A40.
The A40 loops round the top of Gloucester and drops onto the A417, probably signposted Cirencester & Swindon.
Just after Great & Little Witcombe (at an island) take the A436.
The A436 comes to a junction (cross roads) with the A40; Turn right onto the A40 probably signposted Oxford.
Just after Hampnett, the A40 crosses the A429 signposted Borton on the Water & Stow on the Wold.

NOTE : We will be stopping for lunch / drinkies somewhere on the A429.
NOTE : Take care, I’m sure there is at least one speed camera on the A429 but haven’t had chance to check it yet.

Follow the A429 through Borton on the Water, Stow on the Wold & Morton in Marsh.
Continue on the A429 until it crosses A3400 where you should turn right towards Stratford.
We should drive through Stratford if for no other reason than to draw attention to ourselves, picking up the A3400.
Take the A3400 through Wootton Wawen into Henley in Arden.
Turn left on entry to Henley onto the A4189 signposted Redditch.

NOTE: There is a speed camera 2/3’s of the way down this road

Arrive at the Island junction with the A435 and the Dog pub. Go straight across staying on the A435 over a further 2 or 3 islands (the island with safeway being the last).
At this stage road becomes a dual carriage way; and later becomes the A448 sihnposed Bromsgrove.

NOTE: Last real blast for the twin turbo’s and superchargers

Turn right onto the A38 at the Bromsgrove golf centre signposted Droitwich / M5
Follow the A38 through Wychbold to the M5, go under the M5 and finish in the car park of Robin Hood pub on the left.

Are we stopping for lunch on the way?

Might it be wise to fore-warn our lunch venue that we are coming, possibly arrange for a section of the carpark?

Last midlands meet the Mitre Oak were a little unprepared for us lot! :D

I think we'll be ok meetin at Mitre Oak, doesnt start getting busy until 11.30 onwards, and the car park is quite large.

Just a thought.

Revised route !!!!!

There will be hand outs in the morning but please bring maps :badidea: ; sat nav :rlol: ; fat nav  ; kids with directions; anything you thinks gonna help !!!!!!!

Prizes (not expensive ones mind) for best presented car of the day, tackiest non performance modification & least clothed passenger or driver will be awarded.

Entrants should be nominated either by themselves, or anonomously by a “friend” during the morning session. Judging will take place during the lunch stop.

Note : In the event that no one wants to enter for the least dressed passenger or driver, nominations for the dirtiest car will be accepted !!!!!!!

Please note : route had been modified to go from Worcester to Ross via Hereford because Ian R knows the road …… anyone holding him up will be severly punished !!! :tomato: :tomato: :tomato: :haha:

Starting at the Mitre Oak pub on the A449 between Worcester and Kiddiminster
A449 into Worcester
Negotiate the one way system round Worcester following signs for the A449, Malver & Ross.
Take care of the speed check & speed camera in the 30mph zone just after Worcester race course.
Pick up the A44 and then the A4103 out or Worcester signposted Hereford.
Once in Hereford (it looks like we’ll be thrown onto a ring road) pick up signs for the A49 to Ross.
On entering Ross, pick up signs for the A40, signposted Gloucester, M5 & Cheltenham
The A40 loops round the top of Gloucester and drops onto the A417, probably signposted Cirencester & Swindon.
Just after Great & Little Witcombe (at an island) take the A436.
The A436 comes to a junction (cross roads) with the A40;

Lunch option : If we turn left onto the A40 and head towards Cheltenham there is a pub on the left called the Waterside (01242 529 671) with a dcent sized car park, a bit of grass, some outside tables and what looks like a bigish restaurant. If the first stage hasn’t taken too long and we’ve not been forced to stop before, this might be a good place to have lunch. Exit car park and turn right onto the A40 and head towards Borton again.

Off the A436, turn right onto the A40 probably signposted Oxford.
Just after Hampnett, the A40 crosses the A429 signposted Borton on the Water & Stow on the Wold.

NOTE : Take care, I’m sure there is at least one speed camera on the A429 but haven’t had chance to check it yet.

Follow the A429 past the turn to Borton on the Water, towards Stow on the Wold & Morton in Marsh.

NOTE : Just after borton on the Water there is a speed camera near a texaco garage
NOTE : Having left Morton on the A249, there is a speed camera after the turn for Stretton on Fosse; I think after an Esso station

Continue on the A429 until it crosses A3400 where you should turn left towards Stratford.
We should drive through Stratford if for no other reason than to draw attention to ourselves, picking up the A3400.
Take the A3400 through Wootton Wawen into Henley in Arden.
Turn left on entry to Henley onto the A4189 signposted Redditch.

NOTE: There is a speed camera 2/3’s of the way down this road immediatelt after the “country cattery”

Arrive at the Island junction with the A435 and the Dog pub. Go straight across staying on the A4189 over a further 2 or 3 islands (the island with safeway being the last).
At this stage road becomes a dual carriage way; and later becomes the A448 signposed Bromsgrove.

Turn right onto the A38 at the Bromsgrove golf centre signposted Worcester / M5
Follow the A38 through Wychbold to the M5, go under the M5 and finish in the car park of Robin Hood pub on the left.

Notes : Phoning the pub ...... great idea; wish i'd read the post earlier .... maybe do it en route.

Timings ....... sorry, didn't think so not done ..... not precious though on lunch venue so very open to suggestions.

Morning fella's well its stopped raining and seems to be brightening up.
I word of warning about the A4103 it is classed as a dangerous road because of the volume of accidents on it. I have seen 7 in last 12 weeks 1 of which was a fatal. But it is quite safe as long as you don't try silly overtaking on it ;)

We only took three pics and only one of those was any good!

Some very weird weather coming back on the M5 - it was sunny with dry roads, then failed very very hard for about 300 meters, then nice and sunny again with dry roads again. Bizzare!
Got back to find Telford has been beautiful all day and still is..

I hope everyone gets back safe and sound.

What I meant was when we were following him he was gunning it (not really in a fashion for a convoy to keep up). He then went and rounded up a few of the cars missing back to the car park we stopped in. Then he vanished

What a great day! Me and the Mrs really enjoyed and still laughing about it now :D

Memorable events from the day were:

1) Ian R handing over the lead to a scooby driver that had fluttered his eye lashes at him! and then the scooby driver took a few of us to a secluded car park, I locked the doors at first and refused to get out ;)

2) Ian R telling me what sort of BHP he will pushing when he fits his big single and NOS :scare: Nutter! :looney:

3) Being asked to take the lead from the car park because I had put the postcode in my satnav, then everyman and his soopdog decided they knew how to guess their way there and set off in 5 different directions with me chasing them down to tell them they were going the wrong way :drown:

4) The great drive after lunch which eventually dwindled down to myself, Steve (S7eve) , and Matt the 'how big are my balls' drifter in his custard slice! Managed to shake off Matt the crazy b%stard at 140+ leptons lol

5) A few well deserved beers at the Robin Hood with the three amigos, lucky for me no one else turned up as I bought the first round.

A big thanks to Martin R for coming up with the idea and a very big thanks to afreemason and all those that organised a fantastic day.

Loved your car Rogue, just didn't get chance to have a chat :( and I know I need to fit a centre brake light lol

Oh and Steve, the Mrs thought you needed a head start before she smoked ya ;)

I'll post some pics tomorrow folks when I've sorted them out.

Thanks for that mate, was a real PITA not going but I needed to talk over the job or maybe lack of one with Maria. Looks like a move to Ireland is a real possibility

It's a shame that you just don't get chance to talk to everyone at these things. I'm sure it won't be too long before the next.

Talking of "her ladyships", mine wants me to say that when she took over directions to the Pub, we were NOT lost as she did a rerun of that part of the route today, and if we'd gone a l i t t l e bit further up that road instead of pulling over, we'd have got to a 'T' junction, turned left and Robert would have been our mother's brother........ personally i had no doubts, it was little Sophie who was fussing....... :innocent: :hide:

Oh yeah, i forgot to say :-note to self;working on the Saturday nightshift before a GUMBALL makes Crimbo a dull boy-: thanks to all who organised everything , my compliments to the photographer of the 'youngest petrol-head in town', (she's willing to swap her Subaru for that "custard slice" that was sliding all over the shop! :eyebrows:

Don't talk to me about directions ...... Both Motley and I (in different splinter groups I may add) made the fire station on the way out of Ross on the A40 only to be dragged back in by the mystery black scooby driver :whip: I was GUTTED the second time we drove past it ....... AN HOUR LATER

Oh well ...... am working on another idea for next year :

yeah yeah yeah ...... point made ....... I'm ***king slow vs you TT boys   :thumbdown :violin: It was me holding up Ian.

I'm gonna have to stick to feeling superior to NA's thats all  unless I can get some performance enhancement :badidea: Maybe a diet  .... not gona happen really is it.

Still, I had fun trying ....... sorry for jumping in front of you Ian when coming out of the pub ....... I'd kinda committed to going or else I'd have let you play ...... I whipped it's ass but it wouldn't go any faster :whip:

That reminds me freemason, one of the Z guys was having lunch at our table and turned to me and said "You were pulling away from me before on that dual carriageway you know!" a little stunned I replied "I should bloody think so lol! and come to think of it I wasn't even booting it at that moment!" to make matters worse for himself he asked "is it modded then?", didn't think he got any happier when I explained I was totally stock with both cats in lol

I then carried on tucking into my succulent scampi while Ian from JAPWorcs (Skyline) filled him in on BHP figures :D

The 350Z's were a good bunch of guys with lovely cars glad they came, just wish I'd had the chance on the way back to really put my foot down against one of the Z's, oh well maybee next time.

Oh and I can know see why you didn't go for a blue one freemason

At least I'm realistic about the supe vs zed debate. Being as though Motley has a NA I know the zed comes out on top there, interms of straight line speed and handling IMO  but I know I wouldn't hold a candle to the TT Supe. I was kinda disappointed that one of the two APS twin turbo zeds wasn't in attendance ...... we were supposed to have a super charged jap spec turning up be he had to withdraw at the last minute. Maybe next time. I know some of the zed boys are very supra-curious and hopefully vice versa but hey variety and all that !!!!!!!!

Maybe another joint meet in the future now I'm getting brave.

I agree, had a good look around your car freemason on Sunday and I must admit it has grown on me alot. The rear wing did add alot to car compared with the other Z's and the colour also. Just need to supercharge it and you can lend it me anyday of the week :OK:

:thanku: :thanku: :thanku: :thanku:

Why thank you gentlemen.

The wing is Veilside V1; the Veilside force is strong in our house :eyebrows: and is obviously non standard as Nissan couldn't possibly have such good taste. I wasn't keen on the Nismo spoiler and wanted the wheels to be different too so bought the basic car and spent extra cash on non standard bits rather than the usual run of the mill nismo add ons.

Compared to the TT supe though it does lack punch although the skill of the driver offers the largest scope for improving performance :scare: :scare: Still for the cash, it's a lot of bhp per £ for a new car.

I'll try and find a pickie of a zed with the nismo kit on .......
